Michael Conrad

Mike Conrad

Mike began his hospitality career at an early age in his hometown of Rochester, NY. Whether it was building out his family’s long time restaurant in the mid 90’s; or working in a classic brigade in some of NY's finest kitchens. In Late 2010 after attending college for marketing Mike relocated to Detroit, MI for a change of scenery. In the coming years he would work his way through the kitchen hierarchy. During these years Mike honed his abilities and was enlisted to partner and open a restaurant in 2015.

In 2017, Mike's restaurant (takoi) was nominated for the designation of ‘Best Restaurant Midwest’ by the coveted James Beard Foundation. Takoi was later recognized as Detroit’s Restaurant of the Year, 2017. As the company grew, ownership wanted Mike to grow as well. In late 2019, he opened his second restaurant in Detroit. While construction took place Mike found himself in Chicago. It was here that he was able to study and intern at a few of the Midwest’s Michelin accredited kitchens. This cultivated a deep understanding of what it means to cook, manage, and be creative at the highest level.

In his free time Mike enjoys doing pop-ups, playing music, traveling and dining in the world's best restaurants.

Thomas Robertson

Thomas Robertson is a highly successful, accomplished hospitality professional with over 30 years management experience in luxury boutique, full service hotels, and resorts.

After graduating from the University of Kansas, Tom began his hospitality career in the Caribbean and have since managed properties throughout the United States in positions ranging from Executive Housekeeper to Director of Room and General Manager.  Tom is passionate about leading the charge while motivating, delegating and developing associates to be successful.  He believes his passion inspires and energizes others to engage in the mission to be the best you can be every day.  

Providing superior quality service to his clients and customers is Tom’s highest goal. In demonstrating an exceptional level of integrity, knowledge and skill it is his passion to exceed standards and expectations while earning trust.

Kelsey Vaughn

Executive Recruiter | Restaurant Division

Kelsey Vaughn is a hospitality professional known for driving brand growth, maximizing operational excellence and delivering financial performance. She has worked in many different positions within the hospitality industry working her way up to General Manager and Corporate Level Leadership. Kelsey was in key leadership roles when the Courtyard by Marriott received many Marriott Brand of Excellence Awards. She also was on the team in charge of international recruitment and onboarding for all hotels in her management companies’ portfolio.

Kelsey was also a part of the opening team for Hyatt. She taught hotel systems for front desk, food and beverage and housekeeping to new employees when she was in charge of learning and development for Marriott and Hyatt hotels. Kelsey was recruited to work as a leader for Disney at the luxury property, at 1400 rooms, the Yacht and Beach club where she learned valuable lessons in full-service operations. These experiences have allowed her to work alongside amazing hospitality professionals as well as to mold future leaders in the industry.

Kelsey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Administration with a Minor in Marketing from Southern Illinois University. An Illinois native, Kelsey moved to the Florida Panhandle after graduation to pursue her hospitality dreams. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach with her family.
